Lead Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Lead Math Instructor creates a welcoming environment for students and families and provides effective, concise math instruction after receiving training. The role motivates students and helps foster an engaging, positive, and productive learning environment while building student confidence and awareness of the program’s value. Instructors help evaluate and track student progress through communication with the Center Manager and staff, and perform operational and administrative functions as needed. Instruction may take place in-center, online, or through hybrid delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities.
- Availability at least three days per week.
- Pass a math literacy test demonstrating math proficiency.
- Provide work authorization and pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Teach and tutor using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Help maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff to help evaluate and track student progress.
