About The Position

Launch Potato is seeking a Lead BI Developer to own reporting infrastructure that supports decision-making across its Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals. The role partners closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams to understand business needs, identify meaningful trends, conduct retrospective analyses, and connect data work to business decisions. The successful candidate will own reporting end to end, from raw data ingestion through dashboards, and will help standardize reporting and build trusted data sources that enable self-service analytics. This is a business-embedded role focused on whether reporting is understood, used, and acted upon—not simply building dashboards for handoff. The role has a growth path from technical execution toward proactive analytical partnership, including recommending actions and helping stakeholders anticipate opportunities. In the first 30 days, the developer will audit existing reporting, identify discrepancies, redundancies, and inconsistencies, and begin developing a standardization roadmap. By 60 days, they should understand how assigned verticals make money and their key performance levers, improve dashboard standardization, and handle ad hoc requests accurately and with business context. By 90 days, dashboard standardization should be underway, a roadmap for trusted data sources should be clear, and the developer should understand LookML structure well enough to make changes with awareness of downstream impacts. Within six months, the role is expected to establish trust through education, best practices, and a standardized reporting suite, while delivering proactive retrospective analyses. Within one year, the developer should be the trusted technical owner for assigned verticals, with standardized reporting and consistent retrospective analysis, and be viewed as a go-to analytical partner. Launch Potato describes itself as a profitable, bootstrapped discovery and conversion company with a South Florida headquarters and a remote-first team across 18 countries. Compensation includes a base salary of $120,000 to $150,000 per year, paid semi-monthly, a profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits. Future compensation increases are based on company and personal performance rather than annual cost-of-living adjustments.

  • Strong analytical rigor, including tracing discrepancies to their source before drawing conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate findings with appropriate context for the audience and collaborate with stakeholders.
