About The Position

Launch Potato is seeking a Lead BI Developer to own the reporting infrastructure supporting decisions across its Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals. The role is embedded with the business and partners closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management to identify meaningful trends, conduct retrospective analyses, and surface insights that inform business action. Analyses may cover experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and customer acquisition cost (CAC) performance. The position owns reporting end to end, from raw data ingestion through dashboards. The successful candidate will audit and standardize reporting, develop trusted data sources, improve dashboard adoption and self-service analytics, and build business teams’ data literacy. Over time, the role is expected to grow from technical execution into proactive analytical partnership, recommending actions and helping teams anticipate opportunities.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics.
  • Direct exposure to performance or affiliate marketing.
  • Expert SQL skills and comfort extracting accurate insights from raw, unstructured, complex data without relying on clean models.
  • Experience owning reporting end to end, from pipeline through dashboard.
  • Advanced LookML development or equivalent expertise in Power BI or Tableau, including understanding downstream impacts of complex models.
  • Ability to build and standardize reporting, drive adoption, and improve teams’ data literacy.
  • Ability to connect data to performance marketing levers such as campaign performance, conversion rates, or revenue per session.
  • Strong curiosity and willingness to develop business knowledge and become a trusted analytical partner.
  • Analytical rigor in investigating discrepancies and tracing them to their source before drawing conclusions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including asking questions to understand stakeholder needs and provide the right context.

Responsibilities

  • Own reporting infrastructure for assigned business verticals, from raw data ingestion through final dashboards.
  • Audit existing reporting with stakeholders to identify discrepancies, redundancies, and inconsistencies.
  • Develop and execute a roadmap to standardize reporting and create trusted data sources.

  • Handle ad hoc analytical requests accurately and with business context.
  • Educate teams on reporting best practices and improve data literacy and confident self-service analytics.
  • Surface actionable insights proactively and recommend actions rather than only reporting findings.
