Part Time LBS1 Instructor - 1-to-1 Education
About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time special education instructor to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. The instructor uses the provided APEX Learning curriculum and applies accommodations and modifications based on each student’s IEP. The role focuses on supporting the individual student in the classroom; a case manager handles most administrative duties. Brightmont’s one-to-one teaching model uses a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve academic mastery. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not part of the role. The position offers a flexible schedule and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- LBS1 certification.
- Patience and empathy for students with differing learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints where applicable (Arizona and Washington only) and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
