About The Position

Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Special Education Instructor to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. The instructor uses the provided APEX Learning curriculum and provides accommodations and modifications according to each student’s IEP. The role is focused on supporting the individual student in the classroom; a case manager handles most administrative duties. Brightmont’s teaching model emphasizes tailored instruction, gradual release to help students build confidence and achieve mastery, and a nurturing learning environment. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not required. The position offers a flexible schedule and professional development opportunities. Pay is $25 per hour.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Special education experience.
• Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
• Genuine passion for teaching.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, if applicable, and pass a federal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
