About The Position

Naturescape of Waukegan, IL is seeking to hire a Lawn Care Specialist to provide our customers with outstanding services for their residential and commercial properties. This role offers a career in lawn and landscape care with a stable, family-owned business, where you can be a valued and respected member of a close-knit team. The position involves independent work in the great outdoors, with flexible scheduling options for full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. Your primary responsibility is to be the face of our company in the field, managing a route and transforming landscapes. You will navigate to residential and commercial properties to complete precision lawn care, lawn aeration, mowing, tree/shrub care and pruning, and mosquito control. You will also act as a consultant and problem-solver, explaining the benefits of services and discussing property needs with clients. Adaptability is key, as you will pivot to snow removal and other winter work opportunities during colder months. This is a licensed specialist position requiring state pesticide certifications. The company emphasizes a 'learning by doing' approach and invests in employee development, regardless of prior experience.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a general laborer, construction worker, landscaper, groundskeeper, or lawn mower.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding lawn and landscape care services for residential and commercial properties.
  • Manage a route and transform landscapes.
  • Complete precision lawn care, lawn aeration, mowing, tree/shrub care and pruning, and mosquito control.
  • Act as a consultant and problem-solver for customer inquiries about their landscape.
  • Assess lawn health and landscape needs.
  • Communicate clearly and kindly with clients to ensure they are happy, informed, and confident in the services provided.
  • Adapt to seasonal changes, including performing snow removal and other winter work.
  • Obtain and maintain state pesticide certifications.
