Lawn Care Technician / Specialist
About The Position
Naturescape of Davenport, IA is seeking to hire a Lawn Care Specialist to provide our customers with outstanding services for their residential and commercial properties. This role offers a career in lawn and landscape care with a stable, family-owned business where you can be a valued and respected member of a close-knit team. The position involves independent work in the great outdoors, with flexible scheduling options for full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. You will typically work 10-hour days, 4 days per week, with variations due to weather and customer needs. Your "office" changes daily as you navigate to residential and commercial properties to complete precision lawn care, lawn aeration, mowing, tree/shrub care and pruning, and mosquito control. You will also be responsible for snow removal during winter months. This is a licensed specialist position requiring state pesticide certifications. The role emphasizes continuous learning and development, with a focus on understanding turfgrass species, aeration timing, and other lawn care nuances. Previous experience in roles like general laborer, construction worker, landscaper, groundskeeper, or lawn mower is beneficial, but a "can-do" attitude and willingness to be coached are essential.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Motivated with a desire to learn
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification in categories Core and 3T (Turf Pest Control) is required for licensed specialist positions.

- Candidates who are fully licensed in the state of Iowa before their start date are eligible for a $750 bonus after 4 months of continuous employment with the company.

Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding services for residential and commercial properties.
- Manage a route and transform landscapes.
- Complete precision lawn care, lawn aeration, mowing, tree/shrub care and pruning, and mosquito control.
- Perform snow removal during winter months.
- Assess lawn health and landscape needs.
- Communicate clearly and kindly with clients about services and landscape needs.
- Adapt to seasonal changes in work responsibilities.
- Develop skills and grow alongside the company.
