About The Position

Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) is an award-winning non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with youth to unlock their potential, disrupt the pipeline to prison, and advance justice. By 2030, FLY aims to dismantle California's pipeline to prison, equip 30,000 youth for healthy, free, and productive lives. The Law and STAY FLY Programs Coordinator will support the effective operation of FLY's Law Program and STAY FLY Program in Santa Clara County. This role involves assisting with volunteer recruitment, coordinating events, managing data entry, and facilitating FLY's law-related education curriculum at program sites.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the intake of youth referrals for the Law-Related Education (LRE) & STAY FLY Program, processing new referrals and contacting 90% of referred youth within 72 hours.
  • Establish clear communication with referral providers, such as school staff, families, public defenders, and juvenile probation officers, to expedite the referral process and maintain positive relationships.
  • Organize and maintain data entry for all referrals into the internal database, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO).
  • Coordinate the preparation of supplies for program sites, events, and trainings, including purchasing supplies, reserving venues, preparing materials, and ordering meals.
  • Provide ongoing support to volunteer facilitators with supplies and call logs.
  • Manually track event execution details in planning spreadsheets, create event flyers, and complete post-event data entry into the ETO database.
  • Manage and organize youth/young adult liability waivers, medical binders, and volunteer paperwork, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible at events.
  • Transport youth to and from designated program events and activities as needed.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment in collaboration with the Law Program Manager, including preparing recruitment presentations, attending recruitment events, and networking.
  • Schedule and participate in volunteer facilitator interviews, providing necessary paperwork to management.
  • Process all volunteer clearances, including background checks, within 72 hours of onboarding document signing, ensuring clearances are completed before volunteers are active.
  • Facilitate the Law-Related Education (LRE) Curriculum at various program sites.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program information in FLY’s ETO database, Google Drive, and Dropbox folders.
  • Generate attendance reports for program management and external stakeholders.
  • Provide general programmatic and administrative support, including assistance with case filings and reimbursements.
