About The Position

As Program Coordinator, you will join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of the Alzheimer’s Association Portfolio of Community Program Offerings. This portfolio aims to bring awareness, education, and support to communities across the United States and activates a grassroots network of individuals and community leaders to work toward a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Utilizing your proven leadership, networking, and relationship-building skills, you will cultivate key community connections to drive success and expand the reach of our community offerings. This involves strategically identifying and engaging community partners and activating and empowering volunteers, with a particular focus on new, underrepresented, and rural communities. As a successful community mobilizer managing multiple program delivery volunteers annually, you will generate excitement and enthusiasm for the cause, coach and inspire volunteers to implement proven strategies and best practices, leading to increased community presence and serving more people with awareness, education, and support year over year. The Program Coordinator also supports and assists Program staff to ensure Association goals and program performance metrics are met, including administrative and occasional technical support for program volunteers. This position is grant funded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Three years of experience in program delivery or volunteer management
  • Experience in community health and community mobilization a plus

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, coach, and manage volunteers to build grassroots movements that meet organizational goals in select markets. Apply Association best practices in community engagement and volunteer activation, leveraging strong relationship-building skills to drive successful outcomes.
  • Activate and support a portfolio of volunteers in select markets using Association methods such as peer coaching, Mission Conversations, and quality improvement strategies. Manage multiple Community Program Offerings at the same time demonstrating measurable growth year over year and stepping in as needed to ensure delivery.
  • Cultivate and manage community partnerships, including with underrepresented groups, using a relationship-based, results-driven approach that enhances awareness, education, support, and brand visibility in all communities. Manage a portfolio of community partners to host Association Community Programs and secure Community Partner agreements.
  • Demonstrate cross-functional collaboration - with revenue, advocacy, leadership, and other stakeholders - to identify and qualify awareness opportunities, strategically engaging supporters to expand reach and impact. Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that sustains long-term community impact and volunteer engagement.
  • Evaluate and improve volunteer performance as needed, and manage budgets, grants, and timelines with precision.
  • Inspire urgency and support for the Alzheimer’s Association’s full mission, advancing care, fundraising, and advocacy across all communities with an emphasis on reaching underrepresented communities with limited access to diagnosis and treatment.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for the Programs team:
  • Assist with planning, development, and implementation of program activities and events.
  • Provide administrative support for Community Conferences, Community Tabling, Community Awareness Champions and Community Action Networks.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting including ensuring data is entered into applicable software and systems (ALZMAT, PVC).
  • Creates fliers and ensures volunteers and community partners have promotional materials from BrandMuscle to promote programs.
  • Provides technical assistance to data entry volunteers.
  • Maintains correct volunteer records in PVC & Program Volunteer Impact Dashboards.
  • Assists program leads in monitoring quantitative and qualitative chapter and volunteer impact data to ensure growth of unduplicated individuals receiving Care & Support programs.
