About The Position

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a full-time Laundry Worker at Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. The role involves collecting and processing soiled linens and clothing, sorting items by color and fabric type, treating stains, and operating laundry equipment to wash and dry items. The worker also maintains laundry supplies and organization, tracks laundry productivity and linen losses, and communicates with staff about guest linen needs.

The work takes place indoors in an environment with commercial-grade washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment. Temperatures and humidity vary depending on the weather and the number of machines operating. Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting are required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper amounts of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other washing products are used.
• Sort and count items removed from dryers, then fold, wrap, or hang them.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet; wash, dry, sort, and count linens; and fold and restock linens efficiently.
• Operate extractors, dryers, and blower fans as needed.
• Inspect soiled articles for stain sources and color imperfections, and identify items requiring special treatment.
• Determine spotting procedures and appropriate solvents based on fabric and stain types.
• Iron or press articles, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, and spa linens using hand irons or pressing machines.
• Communicate with appropriate staff to identify guest linen needs.
• Track and record loads washed and dried using a provided spreadsheet to calculate productivity.
• Record linen losses due to stains, tears, and wear.
