About The Position

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Cage Cashier at Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. The Cage Cashier handles large amounts of currency, cashes checks, and redeems tickets, vouchers, and chips for guests. The role operates in a fast-paced setting and is supported by a collaborative team.

Mardi Gras Casino and Resort, operated by Delaware North since 2018, is located 14 miles west of Charleston, West Virginia. The property features more than 25 table games, a poker room, more than 850 slot machines, live greyhound racing, off-track betting for greyhound and horse racing, several restaurants, and a 150-room hotel.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Excellent math skills, including addition and subtraction.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift or carry 30 pounds.
• Ability to work with exposure to secondhand smoke.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of cash-handling experience is preferred, including experience handling large amounts of money.

Responsibilities

• Handle large sums of money, including validating guest tickets, distributing cash to team members for jackpots and hand-pays, processing and verifying travelers’ checks, approving and cashing checks, and providing cash advance services.
• Maintain an accurate count of banks.
• Perform regular cash buys to the Cage Supervisor.
• Issue and redeem chips; process chip fills and credits.
• Follow all departmental and state policies and procedures.
