About The Position

Delaware North Gaming is hosting a paid Dealer Training School for individuals interested in becoming a Table Games Dealer at Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. The training program develops table game knowledge, math and technical skills, and prepares participants for a career as a Table Games Dealer. Classes for paid training start November 16th. Training is conducted during the day; shifts may vary if a participant is offered a full-time dealer role. After completing the program, candidates must pass the required testing and qualify for a West Virginia Lottery license to move into a Dealer position. Dealer positions may be full-time or part-time, based on business needs and availability.

Delaware North operates Mardi Gras Casino and Resort, located 14 miles west of Charleston, West Virginia. The property features more than 25 table games, a poker room, more than 850 slot machines, live greyhound racing, off-track betting for greyhound and horse racing, several restaurants, and a 150-room hotel.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain a state gaming license.
• Ability to attend offsite training and receive applicable training certificates.
• Mathematical skills to solve equations.
• Exceptional guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn the basic workings of the gaming industry.
• Learn how to shuffle and place cards.
• Learn how to cut gaming chips, exchange currency for gaming chips, and identify chip denominations.
• Learn rack maintenance and hand recognition.
• Learn payouts and odds for each game.
• Learn to determine winners and losers according to game rules.
• Learn to control the pace of the game.
• Develop proper game security skills.
• Protect game integrity through observation and by following appropriate procedures.
• Learn to identify unusual play habits.
