About The Position

Aloft Houston Downtown is seeking a dedicated, driven, detail-oriented Laundry Attendant. The role processes hotel linens through collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, washing, drying, folding, storing, and delivering them. It also includes operating and maintaining laundry equipment, replenishing chemicals, stocking linen closets, and keeping laundry and other back-of-house areas clean and organized. The position follows MCR’s standards for cleanliness, friendliness, product consistency, quality, and teamwork. Team members are expected to support guest satisfaction, follow checklists and procedures, communicate professionally, maintain a clean approved uniform, and pitch in with other cleaning needs as required. The schedule may vary and may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Must be able to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Must listen effectively, understand and clarify concerns, and resolve issues raised by co-workers and guests.
Must communicate information and ideas clearly.
Must have a desire to serve guests.
Must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must meet the physical demands of regularly standing, walking, performing repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions, and carrying laundry supplies, linens, and other items.

Nice To Haves

Experience in hospitality, service, a consumer-facing franchise, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect, transport, sort, weigh, load, and unload linens through the laundry process, then fold, store, and deliver them.
Wash and dry dirty linens, towels, and rags as directed by management.
Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
Fold linens and towels and stock linen carts as required.
Operate washing machines and dryers; clean dryer filters as directed by the checklist and maintain equipment as trained.
Sweep and mop laundry floors, store linens off the floor, and keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
Stock linen closets throughout the hotel as applicable and keep back-of-house areas clean and organized.
Replace and replenish cleaning chemicals.
Greet guests warmly and support guest satisfaction, including handling challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency.
Complete operational checklists accurately and on time, and provide accurate, timely shift handover reports.
Maintain a clean, approved uniform and comply with grooming and nametag requirements.
Communicate and collaborate professionally with team members and help with other cleaning duties as needed.
Arrive and clock in on time, follow scheduled clock-in and break procedures, and provide notice for call-outs as directed.
