Requirements

  • Professional demeanor

  • Appearance in a clean uniform is required
  • Continuous movement
  • Regularly bending below the knees
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching overhead
  • Moving up to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance
  • Able to stand and walk for an entire shift
  • Perform repetitive motions
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps
  • Grasp turn and manipulate objects varying in size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (i.e., identify defects)
  • Comply with all safety policies
  • Report any maintenance, problems, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor washing, drying machinery
  • Select appropriate cleaning materials
  • Maximize efficiency and conservation of water by controlling load content and size
  • Remove debris from floor after each sorting
  • Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, and place in clean linen carts
  • Identify stained or damaged linen and determine status for repair, rewash, discard or review by supervisor
  • Fold articles into designated sizes by hand or use of folding machine.
  • Clean lint traps
  • Maintain accurate records of items laundered
  • Replenish laundry supplies as needed throughout shift
  • Select necessary personal protective equipment for various surfaces and cleaning jobs
  • Ensure cleanliness and condition of each assigned area meets standards
