About The Position

The Laundry Attendant ensures a consistent and timely supply of clean, high-quality linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction. The role handles all stages of laundry processing while maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards in the laundry facility. The attendant sorts and inspects items, treats stains or damage, operates commercial laundry equipment, and folds and organizes finished items to hotel standards. The position also involves keeping the facility and equipment clean, monitoring inventory, reporting maintenance needs or supply shortages, and assisting with laundry inventories. Reliable attendance is an essential function of the role.

Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods and lift, push, or pull heavy loads of wet or dry laundry weighing 20–50 pounds.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet daily production deadlines.
Ability to respond quickly to stains, machine malfunctions, and urgent guest needs.
Effective communication and collaboration with housekeeping, front desk, and management teams.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
Knowledge of cleaning agents, laundry chemicals, and commercial laundry equipment operation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and quality-driven approach.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Self-motivated, with the ability to manage and oversee one's own work.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Prior hospitality or laundry facility experience.

Responsibilities

Sort soiled linens, towels, and uniforms by type, color, and fabric.
Inspect items for stains or damage and apply appropriate stain-removal or repair procedures.
Operate commercial washing, drying, and pressing equipment, including selecting appropriate cycles and using chemicals properly.
Fold, stack, and organize cleaned linens and uniforms according to hotel standards.
Ensure processed items are clean, wrinkle-free, and in good repair before returning them to circulation.
Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the laundry facility.
Perform routine equipment cleaning, including lint-trap removal, and promptly report maintenance needs.
Monitor clean and soiled linen, chemical, and supply inventory levels, and report shortages.
Assist with monthly or periodic laundry inventories.
Perform additional duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.
