About The Position

The Laundry Associate delivers clean linens throughout the hospital and helps ensure adequate linen supplies are available. The role gathers and inspects soiled linens, identifying items that need special treatment, and operates laundry equipment while regulating machine processes and the use of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives. The associate sorts and counts items removed from dryers, then folds, wraps, or hangs them. The role also takes inventory of assigned units, marks laundry items with identifying codes or names, and helps keep the laundry department and equipment clean and well maintained. Hours are 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., every third weekend and every third holiday.

Requirements

Prior laundry experience.
Be detailed and well organized.
Use supplies, materials, and equipment effectively.
Follow directions communicated in a variety of ways.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Operate laundry equipment.
Knowledge of personal protective equipment and hand hygiene.
Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and external parties.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of laundry experience preferred.

Responsibilities
