About The Position

The Laundry Aide works at Heritage Inn of Barnesville, supporting laundry operations and the care of patients’ clothing and linens. The role includes washing, drying, sorting, folding, hanging, and treating laundry, while maintaining equipment and the laundry area. The aide follows safety precautions for chemicals and helps ensure patients’ clothes are ready to wear and items needing repair are placed appropriately. The position also involves communicating warmly and professionally with associates, patients, family members, and visitors; responding helpfully to concerns; and contributing to committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts. Other duties may be performed as needed to support the organization. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram-based instructions using common-sense reasoning and to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Ability to meet the described physical demands, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Fold and sort clothes.
Hang clothes on racks according to names and numbers.
Ensure patients’ clothes are ready to wear and place items needing repair in the proper location.
Understand the functions of various soaps and bleaches.
Follow the precautions listed on MSDS for chemicals used.
Wash and dry clothes and linens.
Keep equipment clean and follow cleaning schedules.
Sweep and mop the laundry area.
Empty washers and dryers as requested.
Clean and disinfect linen carts as requested.
Remove stains.
Promote the System’s image and reputation through servant leadership and direct, open communication.
Contribute to committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts.
Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
Communicate warmly and professionally with associates, patients, family members, and visitors; respond to concerns and answer questions appropriately.
