About The Position

The Laboratory Technician safely conducts analysis and reporting of products for Oil Condition Monitoring, including in-service lubricants, coolants, fuels, and grease. The role performs hands-on laboratory work and supports accurate reporting, current analytical methods, equipment maintenance and calibration, and laboratory safety practices. The position also prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas and carries out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to work in a routine, repetitive, fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to interpret instructions provided orally, in writing, diagrams, electronically, or in schedules.
• Must act in accordance with SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
• Must be able to work with chemicals, petrochemicals, and petroleum products.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in a science discipline.
• One year of experience working in a Laboratory Technician setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on laboratory analysis of products, including in-service lubricants, coolants, fuels, and grease.
• Complete applicable laboratory reports.
• Understand and stay current with laboratory analysis methods.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Understand and stay current with laboratory safety and reporting techniques.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
