About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center is hiring a Laboratory Supervisor for Central Processing. The supervisor will lead an expanding team of laboratory professionals in a fast-paced laboratory environment, supporting patient-focused science and medicine through attentive leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and state-of-the-art technology. The position is based at the Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights and requires on-site presence. Employees must live within a commutable distance; travel expenses are not reimbursed. This is a day-shift position, Monday through Friday, with alternate or rotating weekends and rotating holidays as needed. Supervisory coverage may extend to other shifts as part of the leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
At least 3 years of laboratory experience defining pre-analytical and post-analytical processes.
Documented supervisory experience.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to interact professionally with staff, leadership, and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree.
Laboratory-related certifications.
ASCP certification or New York State licensure for Clinical Laboratory Medicine/Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
Knowledge of electronic medical records and laboratory information systems, such as Epic and Epic Beaker.
Knowledge of data analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Responsibilities

Lead an expanding and dynamic team of laboratory professionals in Central Processing.
Provide supervisory coverage for other shifts as required by the leadership role.
