About The Position
The purpose of this position is to perform laboratory analyses to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, and gaseous materials for quality and process control.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft programs such as: Excel, Word, and Outlook
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors in chemistry preferred.
- Lab experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental sample analysis by ICP-OES using Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedures and other EPA methodology.
- Perform GC-FID analysis on gaseous samples taken from production areas.
- Quantify Carbon and Sulfur by non-dispersive infrared absorption.
- Perform metallurgical analysis by Arc Spark-OES.
- Issue alloy treatments to Production.
- Perform Quality Control functions in production areas to ensure final product meets specifications.
- Record and report data using laboratory notebooks, controlled documents, and other documentation methods.
- Prepare chemical stock solutions according to standard formulas and samples for testing.
- Maintain data in SAP.
- Follow written standard operating procedures.
- Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
- Operate, clean, and maintain on trained laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Cleans and maintains laboratory environment and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
