About The Position

Saint Luke’s is seeking a patient-focused night shift phlebotomist who also performs some laboratory processing technician duties. The role suits a positive, service-oriented professional who can multitask, stay busy, and adapt to rapidly changing laboratory workflows. Phlebotomy experience is preferred but not required.

This is a 12-hour night shift position, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with three shifts per week and a weekend requirement every third week.

Requirements

• Less than one year of applicable experience.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to rapidly changing laboratory workflows.
• Patient-focused, positive, service-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Correlate patient samples with provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.
• Perform and report point-of-care laboratory testing as required.
• Use education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and unit staff about patient collections.
