About The Position

The Lab Chemist works in a food safety laboratory and performs chemistry, analytical, microbiological, or quality-system procedures and work instructions. The role requires precision and accuracy in carrying out procedures and collecting data. Team members are expected to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training, work independently on complex instructions or sophisticated equipment, and assist with testing application development and evaluation. The position is based in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, and works first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST. The role does not support sponsorship, and the successful candidate must reside in the United States.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Good reading, verbal, and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and LabWare LIMS applications.

Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

College-level courses or a degree in chemistry, microbiology, or a related science field.
Previous laboratory experience or technical training in a related field.

Responsibilities

Perform complex work instructions and operate sophisticated equipment without close supervision.
Work independently and resolve routine problems.
Assist with planning, development, method modification, validation, and evaluation of new or existing testing applications and test results.
Maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality-system and safety requirements.
Cross-train and be capable of substituting for absent team members in specific areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
