About The Position

The Lab Chemist performs one or more analytical, microbiological, or quality-system procedures and work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory. Precision and accuracy in carrying out procedures and collecting data are essential. The role requires maintaining ISO records for process control and complying with quality-system and safety requirements. Initial proficiency testing must be passed, and competency is verified at least annually. After training, the team member is expected to demonstrate proficiency and growth. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
General knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

College-level courses or a degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or Physical Sciences.
Laboratory experience.
