About The Position
Moji Food Central Kitchen is hiring Kitchen Staff to support daily kitchen operations and food production, as well as perform dishwashing duties in a fast-paced environment. The role includes operating kitchen equipment, preparing and cooking food according to standard procedures and recipes, storing food properly, monitoring inventory, and maintaining clean workstations and equipment. The position is based at 734 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, Oregon, and works 35–40 hours per week, including weekend shifts. Pay is $18.00–$20.00 per hour. Requirements
- Ability to lift items over 30 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Past experience working as a cook, chef, or in a similar role within a high-volume production kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support the kitchen manager in daily operations.
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including kneading dough, making fillings, and handling raw materials.
- Follow standard operating procedures to prepare and cook food.
- Ensure food and other items are stored properly.
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, appliances, and workstations.
- Follow standard recipes and special diet orders.
- Adhere to sanitation and food production codes.
- Perform fast-paced dish cleaning.
