Kitchen Prep-Food Service Worker Part-time
About The Position
Grinnell College is looking for a part-time Kitchen Prep-Food Service Worker to join their culinary team. This role offers competitive pay and flexible scheduling. Responsibilities include replenishing, maintaining, and cleaning food venues, preparing student orders, refilling beverage dispensers and ice cream machines, assisting the dish room, cleaning dining facilities, collecting and disposing of garbage and recycling, refilling dispensers, and other custodial jobs. The position may also involve picking, delivering, and stocking food and supply orders. This role provides an opportunity to interact with the diverse student population of Grinnell College.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Nice To Haves
- Six months or more experience in commercial food services or an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise
- Serve Safe Certificate
Responsibilities
- Replenishing, maintaining, and cleaning food venues.
- Preparing student orders at a Marketplace venue under the direction of a culinary staff member.
- Refilling beverage dispensers with milk or juices and/or the ice cream machine.
- Assisting the dish room during busy times.
- Cleaning of all Dining Services facilities.
- Collection and disposal of garbage and recycling from all areas of Dining.
- Refilling paper towel, sanitizer, and soap dispensers.
- Completing other custodial jobs as directed.
- Assisting with work in the dish room of the dining services.
- Picking, delivering, and stocking food and supply orders for dining departments.
