About The Position

Chartwells K-12 is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker at Caledonia Community Schools in Caledonia, Michigan. The role prepares, presents, and serves food as needed, supporting the company’s goal of serving food students enjoy while helping them leave the cafeteria happier and healthier. The position pays $15.75 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; additional details are provided during the interview. Work may not be required during some school breaks when food service needs decline or cease; these periods are unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location during breaks.

Requirements

• Prior food service experience is preferred but not required.
• The position may require lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food between work stations, the stove, and the refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas using wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner while following outlined service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
• Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
