About The Position

Morrison Living is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker at The Towers at Tower Lane in New Haven, Connecticut. The role prepares, presents, and serves food as needed. The schedule is part time, with days and hours that may vary; night and weekend availability is required. No prior experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

The position is part of Morrison Living's culinary team and involves food preparation, safe food handling and storage, cleaning, customer service, and following production, sanitation, and safety standards. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the opening is filled.

Requirements

• Night and weekend availability is required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food, including washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food between workstations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas and follow wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following outlined service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
• Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
