About The Position

The Kitchen Assistant Manager is a full-time, working-manager position at the Mount Joy Fresh Foods location. The role coordinates and prepares food for the hot foods area and meal center while supporting the department manager in day-to-day operations, merchandising, staffing, training, inventory, ordering, and budget control. The position requires flexible availability for day, evening, and weekend work.

Requirements

Must possess a current and valid ServSafe certification.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be available to work flexible day, evening, and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and prepare food for the hot foods area and meal center.
Assign duties to team members and schedule breaks, work hours, and vacations according to business needs and upcoming store events.
Assist in writing game plans and plan-o-grams for department merchandising based on advertisements and display profitability.
Assist with training workers in store policies, departmental procedures, and job duties.
Communicate regularly with the scan department to resolve incorrect information and ensure correct pricing.
Coordinate vendor invoices, SKH invoices, and inter-company transfers daily to ensure timely billing.
Follow established departmental cleaning procedures.
Perform all department responsibilities as a working manager to ensure smooth operation of the area.
Use knowledge of current inventories and ordering systems to assist with ordering supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.
Maintain and operate departmental equipment.
Supervise and perform departmental inventories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
Assist the department manager in meeting labor, gross profit, and inventory-control budgets.
