About The Position

The Keyholder assists with the daily operations of the Southern Tide retail store, including sales, customer service, and safeguarding store assets. The role requires an understanding of the Southern Tide brand, its coastal lifestyle, customers, and merchandise. The Keyholder supports store operations and helps achieve sales and service goals while maintaining company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of retail experience.
• Advanced computer skills, including Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Teamwork and comfort interacting with others.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and take initiative.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision or direction.
• Flexibility and comfort with problem-solving.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Present and sell merchandise in a manner consistent with the brand, interacting with customers and suggesting merchandise.
• Provide management with merchandising suggestions that may improve sales.
• Build a personal client book.
• Learn the point-of-sale software and troubleshoot in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
• Use the point-of-sale system for routine register transactions, inventory receiving and transfers, and opening and closing registers and the store.
• Learn, reference, and share current product knowledge; provide prompt recommendations and professional service, including fit and fashion advice and add-on suggestions.
• Participate in store-related meetings and work toward exceeding sales and service performance goals set by store management.
• Operate the store in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Share ideas to grow and improve the business, including ideas related to merchandising, staffing, displays, fixtures, advertising, promotions, and operating hours.
• Safeguard store assets and maintain inventory integrity.
• Help prevent inventory shrink where reasonable and appropriate.
• Assist with cycle counts and the year-end physical inventory.
• Open and close registers and the store when the manager or assistant manager is absent.
