About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Akron is hiring a Keyholder/Shift Supervisor to support its mission of helping individuals prepare for, find, and retain employment. The role operates cash registers and point-of-sale systems, completes opening and closing procedures and cash deposits, prepares business and donation reports, and processes goods for resale. The supervisor also supports service participants, promotes a safe and clean work area, and follows safe equipment operating procedures. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
Ability to operate a cash register, perform stock duties, and provide customer service.
Basic mathematical skills.
Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work efficiently while remaining aware of surroundings.
Excellent communication skills.
Reliability, a positive attitude, and pride in one's work.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver's license and proof of insurance preferred.
Previous supervisory experience in customer service, with retail or food service experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Make nightly cash deposits as needed.
Complete donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balance reports.
Inspect textiles, items, and goods to determine saleability.
Sort, hang, tag, price, and prepare items for resale.
Help promote the development of service participants.
Maintain a clean work area free of hazards and operate equipment using safe procedures.
Provide customer service and perform stock duties.
