Christmas Kettle Worker

The Salvation Army Southern California•The Dalles, OR

About The Position

The Kettle Worker supports The Salvation Army’s Christmas fundraising efforts by ringing bells at assigned kettle locations and collecting monetary donations. As a first point of public contact, the worker is expected to greet and interact with donors and the general public in a courteous, friendly, hospitable, and professional manner; answer questions or direct people to an appropriate Salvation Army representative; and follow instructions while working independently with limited supervision. The worker must keep the kettle attended except during authorized breaks at a secure location, wear Salvation Army-provided identification and any required clothing, and complete and submit a daily time card. The position is seasonal, with various hours, including irregular hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays. The role requires outdoor work in changing weather and other conditions, and regular, punctual attendance. A criminal history information check is required; a conviction does not automatically preclude employment. The Salvation Army’s dress code will be shared at employment or orientation. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
