About The Position

The Kennel Technician provides compassionate, hands-on care for pets staying in the veterinary hospital, including boarding pets and hospitalized patients. The role helps ensure animals are comfortable, safe, clean, and well cared for throughout their stay. It involves daily animal care, maintaining sanitary kennels and care areas, observing animals for signs of distress or illness, and assisting veterinary technicians and other medical staff with patient care as needed.

Requirements

• Previous professional or hands-on animal care experience.
• Ability to safely handle and restrain animals.
• Sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift or move heavy pets and objects.
• Ability to recognize changes in animal behavior and identify potential signs of distress or illness.
• Dependable work ethic and ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions and established care protocols.
• Compassionate approach and genuine desire to provide gentle, attentive care to hospitalized and boarded pets.
• Positive attitude and sense of fun.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for hospitalized patients and boarding pets.
• Feed and water animals according to their individual care instructions.
• Walk and bathe pets, and maintain their cleanliness and comfort.
• Safely handle and restrain animals when needed.
• Monitor pet behavior and watch for signs of stress, distress, or illness.
• Maintain clean, sanitary kennels and animal care areas.
• Assist veterinary technicians and other medical staff with patient care as needed.
