About The Position

Spanish Springs Pet Resort is hiring a Kennel Technician for its sister facility, Biggest Little Paws, a dog boarding and daycare facility in Sparks. This is a full-time role scheduled three days per week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All three days are required. Shifts are 12 hours, including an unpaid one-hour lunch from noon to 1 p.m. and two paid 15-minute breaks. The facility operates every day of the year, so holidays are working days.

The role involves keeping the facility clean and safe, caring for dogs, and interacting professionally with clients and teammates. No dog experience is required; training will be provided. The job is very physical and takes place indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• Be reliable and on time for every shift.
• Take direction well and follow protocols.
• Remain calm with big, pushy, or nervous dogs.
• Be looking for a long-term job.
• Be able to stand and walk throughout the day.
• Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, and wet weather, in a loud and busy environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in any hands-on job, such as kitchen, warehouse, janitorial, retail, or animal work.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kennels, play yards, bowls, and the entire facility every day.
• Feed dogs and administer medications according to each dog's instructions.
• Supervise play groups and keep them safe and structured.
• Rotate dogs in and out of kennels and yards.
• Follow the daily checklist from start to finish.
• Be friendly and professional with clients and teammates.
