K-8 IEP Team Chair
About The Position
Brooke Charter Schools is a network of four public charter schools serving grades K–12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. The organization coaches and invests in teachers to help students achieve at high levels and graduate from college. It aims to empower students to live choice-filled lives and contribute to creating a just world, while supporting them in recognizing their identities as sources of strength. As an IEP Team Chair at Brooke East Boston, you will oversee the drafting, implementation, and maintenance of IEPs and 504 plans. You will oversee initial and reevaluation processes and coordinate standardized testing accommodations. The role's hours are 7:15 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. Salaries for candidates with a special education license or degree range from $74,000 to $130,000, based on special education experience. IEP Team Chairs also receive a $3,300 stipend for teaching a high-need area. The position is available for an immediate start.
Requirements
- Be professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
- Have a strong working knowledge of federal and state special education laws.
- Be committed to fostering diversity through anti-racist practices and removing bias.
- Have a bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education, or hold a Special Education teaching license.
- Be able to start immediately.
