About The Position

Holy Rosary School is seeking a caring, dependable, and responsible Substitute Teacher to provide classroom instruction and supervision when the regular classroom teacher is absent. The role supports Catholic education by maintaining a safe, respectful, and faith-filled learning environment and ensuring continuity of instruction and classroom management. The Substitute Teacher follows lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, supervises students, maintains classroom order, and supports learning and engagement throughout the school day. The ideal candidate is flexible, professional, patient, and genuinely interested in working with children in a Catholic school setting.

Requirements

Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
Ability to follow written lesson plans and directions.
Dependable, flexible, and professional demeanor.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Must complete required background checks and Safe Environment training in accordance with diocesan policies.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting.
Practicing Catholic.

Responsibilities

Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, playground, and other assigned school areas.
Maintain a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.
Encourage appropriate student behavior consistent with school expectations and Catholic values.
Take attendance and complete required classroom records or reports.
Communicate effectively with school administration and staff about classroom needs or concerns.
Adapt to varying grade levels, subject areas, and classroom routines as needed.
Ensure students’ safety and well-being at all times.
Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, and school matters.
Follow diocesan, school, and emergency procedures and policies.
