As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Credential Desk in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. Requirements

  • At least six months of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization, manage visitor sign-in procedures, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with facility requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate personnel and following established response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, access points, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Support a respectful, professional environment within a government juvenile services location while maintaining confidentiality and reporting observed policy violations or unusual activity.
