As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Unarmed in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and support a welcoming, secure environment for staff and visitors. This driving position offers the opportunity to provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and help deter incidents while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with integrity and teamwork.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized youth services personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification, confirming authorization, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and access-control records in accordance with site procedures.
