Requirements

  • Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
  • Have at least six months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and authorized contractors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor entry procedures, and maintain accurate access-control records in accordance with facility requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating concerns through established reporting channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and security-related concerns.
  • Assist with maintaining an orderly government juvenile justice facility environment by following post orders, documenting observations, and coordinating with facility personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
