About The Position

As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entry Screening in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will manage visitor entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and help maintain an orderly environment for staff and visitors. You will provide professional customer service, use technology to support access-control activities, and communicate clearly with the team. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and other authorized individuals by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, visitor processing, and movement within the facility in accordance with established protocols.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation of visitors, access activity, incidents, and other security-related observations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
