Junior Data Analyst

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Junior Data Analyst to join their team, supporting the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). The primary responsibility of this role is to perform tasks that include obtaining data through advanced computerized models and extrapolating data patterns through advanced algorithms. The Junior Data Analyst will also be responsible for developing graphs and charts to explain how mathematical information will influence projects or business, presenting recommendations to managers, and assisting in maintaining and enhancing data infrastructure and databases. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in SQL, and knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R are preferred qualifications for this role.

• Develop simple graphs and charts to explain how the mathematical information will influence the specific project or business.
• Present to managers how to best alter their business models to generate successful future trends.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing the data infrastructure, databases, and system integrations.
• Perform various data analytics functions, including data collection, mining, analysis, and visualization.

• BA/BS degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 4 years of experience providing similar scope and complexity and demonstrated ability to recruit and retain research participants
• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
• Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R (preferred)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar (preferred)
• Must be legally authorized to work
