About The Position

Metropolitan Companies is seeking a Jr. Financial Analyst to join its Finance department. The role may involve preparing annual budgets and financial plans, evaluating and reporting financial performance, providing transactional support, and developing and maintaining budget and financial-planning systems, models, and processes. The position reports to the Finance Director. The analyst will support accounting and finance activities, including month-end close, project financial analysis and reporting, maintaining project proformas, management presentations, workflow processes, and ad hoc analytics. The role also contributes to process improvements and implementation of new systems and reporting tools.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
0–3 years of overall experience.
Prior experience with Power BI.
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Assist accounting with month-end close and help ensure profit and loss statements are completed and accurate.
Create and review financial reports and explain variances in project performance.
Create and maintain project proformas weekly.
Assist with project financial analysis and understand financial figures in detail.
Assist with preparing presentations and updates for management according to deadlines.
Use a workflow management system for accounting and finance processes.
Assist with ad hoc projects and analytics.
Continually improve processes and help implement new systems and reporting tools.
