Jr. Software Analyst
About The Position
Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Jr. Software Analyst to support advanced defense and engineering programs. The role involves developing analytical tools, performing system-level evaluations, and contributing to mission-critical solutions in a fast-paced technical environment. The analyst will apply programming and software evaluation skills and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex engineering challenges. The position is customer-site based with no telework option, follows a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule, and may require 0–10% travel. Relocation assistance is not available. The position is not contingent upon a contract award.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Ability to evaluate software-related products and assess them through all phases of the development life cycle, including software specifications, design verification, coding, testing, and results-data validation.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++.
- Active SECRET clearance.

- Experience reviewing requirements and design documents.
- Experience with requirements and traceability analysis and management.
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, validation and verification testing, and analysis.
- Ability to configure necessary hardware and operating environments to complete analysis.
- Knowledge of military and software development industry standards and software requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review plans and reports to ensure systems and software operate and comply with requirements or design specifications.
- Review design, system, and test documentation related to requirements and test output.
- Provide technical expertise in data analyzed through verification and validation processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external team members, using strong organizational skills.
- Develop post-processing analysis tools and visualizations to evaluate system performance.
- Perform performance analyses, produce actionable insights, and suggest architectural or algorithmic enhancements.
- Support and develop automation platforms such as Jenkins by creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting pipeline jobs, scripts, and plugins.
