About The Position

At Valtech, the AI Native Experience Designer works alongside designers, engineers, strategists, and clients to imagine and create intelligent digital experiences. The role combines human-centered design, critical thinking, design craft, and technical fluency to explore AI-enabled interaction patterns, rapidly prototype ideas, test them with people, and help turn promising concepts into real experiences. This is a hybrid design-and-making role. The designer is not expected to be a software engineer, but is encouraged to work beyond static Figma prototypes and use AI-assisted development workflows to move concepts toward functional front-end experiences. The position offers opportunities to experiment with emerging technologies, collaborate across disciplines, and apply new AI capabilities to meaningful client challenges.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in experience design, product design, interaction design, UX/UI, or a related discipline.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating digital experience design and the ability to move from problem definition through concept, interaction design, and execution.
  • Strong experience with Figma, prototyping, interaction design, and design systems.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI as part of design, prototyping, or creation.
  • Hands-on experimentation with generative AI, AI-assisted design tools, coding tools, or emerging prototyping platforms.
  • Strong foundations in human-centered design, user journeys, information architecture, usability, and user research.
  • Ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, and bring structure to ambiguous problems.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to understand how modern digital experiences are built and collaborate closely with engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to explain design reasoning to clients, engineers, and other designers.
  • Curiosity about AI and a habit of turning that curiosity into something tangible.

Nice To Haves

  • Used AI to take a design concept through to a working front-end prototype.
  • Built or designed an AI agent, copilot, conversational interface, or generative experience.
  • Experimented with voice, image, video, or other multimodal AI experiences.
  • Used tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, v0, Replit, Lovable, or Bolt to bring ideas to life.
  • Worked directly with an LLM or AI API, or understands concepts such as context, RAG, tool calling, and agents.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or modern front-end development.
  • Designed experiences that account for AI’s uncertainty and non-deterministic behavior.
  • Thought deeply about how people build trust, understanding, and control when interacting with intelligent systems.
  • Contributed to a design system or helped translate design systems into working interfaces.
  • Built side projects, hackathon projects, or experiments to explore new technology.
  • Developed strong perspectives on what makes an AI experience genuinely useful rather than merely impressive.

Responsibilities

  • Design AI-native products, services, and digital experiences from early concepts through high-fidelity and functional prototypes.
  • Explore interaction patterns involving agents, copilots, conversational experiences, generative interfaces, and multimodal AI.
  • Translate complex user, technology, and business challenges into simple, intuitive experiences.
  • Use AI throughout the design process to research, ideate, create, prototype, test, and iterate.
  • Build rich interactive prototypes using Figma and emerging AI-assisted design and development tools.
  • Experiment with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, v0, Replit, Lovable, and Bolt.
  • Use AI-enabled development workflows to move from design concepts toward working front-end experiences.
  • Partner with engineers to understand technical possibilities and constraints and translate designs into production experiences.
  • Prototype quickly to answer questions that static screens alone cannot answer.
  • Design for AI’s distinctive characteristics, including uncertainty, transparency, trust, user control, and unexpected outputs.
  • Test emerging AI capabilities, understand where they succeed and fail, and apply those learnings to improve experiences.
  • Bring ideas to life for clients so they can see and experience what AI makes possible.
  • Share learnings and contribute to the evolution of AI-native design practices across Valtech.
