AI Product Designer — Interface & Experience

Urban Ridge Supplies•New York, NY

About The Position

ISMG is seeking an AI Product Designer to own front-end and interaction design for its AI-native intelligence products, including audience analytics reporting, an AI-generated daily cybersecurity newscast, and a sourced Q&A system built on its conference archive. This is a founding design-engineering role on a small team, with responsibility for taking products from stakeholder conversations through design and deployment. The work will be seen by security executives, ISMG’s editorial organization, and enterprise clients. The designer will conduct lightweight user research, prototype and validate workflows, and translate complex AI and reporting processes into clear information architecture and task-oriented experiences. They will develop interaction patterns for AI-generated output, including confidence communication, citations, reviewer approval or rejection, and expression of uncertainty. The role also builds the team’s design system and Figma libraries, and establishes practical design-to-code handoff processes and accessibility foundations. The designer will build with AI-assisted development tools and deploy within ISMG’s Azure environment, working with Microsoft Entra ID authentication, Azure App Service or Static Web Apps, Azure DevOps pipelines, and Application Insights. They will design for enterprise needs such as role-based access, dense data, audit trails, exports, responsive behavior, and accessibility. They will partner with the AI Innovation Manager on API contracts and data access, and collaborate with editorial, marketing, and sales teams to understand their needs.

  • Advanced proficiency in Next.js, React, TypeScript, modern CSS, and semantic HTML.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise UX fundamentals, including accessibility, performance, responsive behavior, role-based access, and dense data or visualization.
  • Experience using Claude for prototyping and Claude Code with VS Code or Cursor to turn UI/UX requirements into production-ready frontend code.
  • Advanced design-system capability and expertise in Tailwind CSS, design tokens, themes, and dark mode.
  • Experience with cross-platform mobile and tablet design, including compatibility and optimal UX across handheld devices.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG, ARIA, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong eye for spacing, typography, motion, responsiveness, and visual issues in AI-generated code.
  • Experience with GitHub or Bitbucket code repositories and CI/CD workflows for team collaboration and deployments.

  • Own front-end and interaction design for AI products end to end, from stakeholder conversations through deployed applications.
  • Conduct lightweight user research, prototype workflows, and validate designs with clients and internal users before and after release.
  • Translate complex AI and reporting workflows into clear information architecture and task-oriented experiences.
  • Design interactions for AI output, including communicating confidence, surfacing citations, enabling review and approval or rejection of machine-generated drafts, and expressing uncertainty without eroding trust.
  • Build quickly with AI-assisted development tooling and integrate the resulting work into ISMG’s Azure environment.
  • Establish the team’s design system, including components, states, data visualization patterns, and an accessibility baseline.
  • Build and maintain Figma libraries and design tokens, and create a practical design-to-code handoff process.
  • Design for enterprise needs, including role-based access, dense data, audit trails, exports, responsive behavior, and accessible interaction patterns.
  • Instrument products through Application Insights and use adoption and usage data to inform the roadmap.
  • Partner with the AI Innovation Manager on API contracts and data access, and collaborate with editorial, marketing, and sales business units.
