About The Position

The Journeyman Technician performs automotive repairs and service in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards. The role diagnoses and resolves automotive problems accurately and promptly, and works with service personnel and management to support customer satisfaction. This is a flat-rate position with a stated range of $30.17–$32.17, and may include short- and/or long-term incentives, including commissions and bonuses based on production and productivity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automotive systems and components.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Additional technical training or certifications in automotive technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair-order work efficiently and accurately according to Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose the causes of vehicle malfunctions.
• Complete work in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repair quality.
• Record repair time using company time-clock procedures.
• Document work performed and test procedures and results on repair orders.
• Return customers’ vehicles as clean as they were before service.
• Complete required training.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications through required training.
• Participate in and use technical training as assigned by management.
• Review technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.
• Communicate constructively with dealership personnel as needed to satisfy customer needs.
• Report to management situations or conditions that may jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
