About The Position
This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity at C & B Operations, a John Deere dealership, offering hands-on experience and the chance to earn an Apprenticeship Certification. The program is designed for individuals who enjoy working with engines, technology, and machinery. Participants will work in the shop full-time under experienced technicians and attend one week of in-class instruction per month in Mitchell, South Dakota, with all travel, food, lodging, and class expenses paid. The apprenticeship duration is 2-3 years, depending on prior mechanic experience. The program provides tool packages with an option to own them after three years of employment. Participants will earn money while gaining work experience and working towards their certification.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment
- Ability to work full-time
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere agricultural equipment
- Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and precision ag technology
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and software
- Complete digital service documentation
- Learn professional shop procedures and safety practices
- Work alongside experienced technicians who mentor and train
