About The Position
This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity at C & B Operations, a John Deere dealership, offering hands-on experience and the chance to earn an Apprenticeship Certification. The program is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with engines, technology, and machinery. Participants will work in the shop full-time under experienced technicians and attend one week of in-class instruction per month in Mitchell, South Dakota, with all travel expenses covered. The program duration is 2-3 years, depending on prior mechanic experience. Participants will earn money while gaining valuable work experience and working towards their certification. The company provides tool packages that become the employee's after three years of service.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment
- Ability to work full-time
- Valid driver’s license

- Prior mechanic experience (reduces program length to 2 years)
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere agricultural equipment
- Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and precision ag technology
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and software
- Complete digital service documentation
- Learn professional shop procedures and safety practices
- Work alongside experienced technicians who mentor and train
