About The Position
This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity at C & B Operations, a John Deere dealership, offering hands-on experience and the chance to become a certified John Deere expert. The program involves working full-time in the shop under experienced technicians, with one week of travel each month to Mitchell, South Dakota, for in-class instruction and hands-on learning. Travel, food, lodging, and class expenses are covered. The apprenticeship duration is 2-3 years, depending on prior mechanic experience. Participants will earn money while gaining work experience and working towards their John Deere Apprenticeship Certification. The company provides tool packages with the option to own them after three years of employment. This is a hands-on learning experience that directly applies to education.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment
- Ability to work full-time
- Valid driver’s license

- Prior mechanic experience (reduces apprenticeship duration to 2 years)
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere agricultural equipment
- Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and precision ag technology
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and software
- Complete digital service documentation
- Learn professional shop procedures and safety practices
- Work alongside experienced technicians who mentor and train
