About The Position
This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity at C & B Operations, a John Deere dealership with 38 locations across 6 states. The program aims to train individuals to become certified John Deere experts through a combination of full-time work in the shop and monthly in-class instruction in Mitchell, South Dakota. The apprenticeship lasts 2-3 years, depending on prior mechanic experience. Participants will earn money, gain hands-on experience, and receive a John Deere Apprenticeship Certification.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment
- Ability to work full-time
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Prior mechanic experience (reduces apprenticeship duration to 2 years)
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere agricultural equipment
- Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and precision ag technology
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and software
- Complete digital service documentation
- Learn professional shop procedures and safety practices
- Work alongside experienced technicians who mentor and train
