About The Position

This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity at C & B Operations, a John Deere dealership with 38 locations across 6 states. The program aims to train individuals to become certified John Deere experts by providing hands-on experience in the shop and structured in-class instruction. Apprentices will work full-time under experienced technicians, travel to Mitchell, South Dakota for one week each month for paid training, and apply their learning in the shop. The program duration is 2-3 years, depending on prior mechanic experience. Participants will earn money, gain work experience, and work towards their John Deere Apprenticeship Certification. The company offers tool packages with the option to own them after three years of service.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment
• Ability to work full-time
• Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Prior mechanic experience (reduces program length to 2 years)

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere agricultural equipment
• Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and precision ag technology
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software
• Complete digital service documentation
• Learn professional shop procedures and safety practices
• Work alongside experienced technicians who mentor and train
